Africa has vast resources and potential to develop biofuels, but policy-makers on the continent face a lot of challenges to make sure this is done in a sustainable manner.
The roundtable discussion focused on the relevance of biofuels to Africa's growth prospects and the continent's contribution to the global shift towards low-carbon economies.
The discussion also covered the development of a framework for enhanced coordination among key players in the field of sustainable biofuels development in Africa, taking into consideration relevant national and regional initiatives.
