SINGAPORE, 12 July 2018 – The Secretariats of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) have organized a workshop as part of the Regional Technical Expert Meetings on Mitigation (TEMs-M) and the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action.

ABIDJAN, 6 July, 2018 - The first fifteen Ivorian trainees from Morocco’s Training Academy for Heavy Duty Equipment and Commercial Vehicles (AGEVEC in its original acronym) have received their training certificates in Abidjan during a ceremony which brought together Alexi Ahonzo, Cabinet Director representing Mamadou Touré, State Secretary for Technical Education and Vocational Training; Abdelmalek Kettani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in Côte d’Ivoire; and Tidiane Boye, UNIDO Representative in Côte d’Ivoire.

BANGKOK, 6 July 2018 – Thai policymakers participated in a week-long training on inclusive investments and global value chains (GVCs). They explored the opportunities and challenges for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to reap benefits from Thailand’s increasing participation in global trade and investment flows. The event was organized by the Ministry of Industry’s Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) from 2-6 July 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.

DA NANG, 29 June 2018 – A UNIDO delegation led by Director General LI Yong took active part in the Sixth Global Environment Facility (GEF) Assembly held between 23 and 29 June 2018 in Da Nang, Viet Nam. The event marks the beginning of the seventh replenishment of the GEF (GEF-7) – which has achieved donor pledges of US$4.1 billion for the next four-year cycle – and brought together environmental ministers and other senior officials from the GEF’s 183 member countries.
