Where:
InterContinental Hotel Sao Paulo, Bonadei Room

Central to developing a circular economy is the need to identify, develop and promote a sustainable secondary materials market and ensure that recycled materials are available as an alternative to virgin raw materials. This WCEF2025 Accelerator Session will delve into challenges such as fragmented regulations, inadequate infrastructure and low investment in developing secondary materials markets and offer practical scalable solutions for fostering circularity and transforming global resource consumption patterns.
The session explores the critical question: “What macroeconomic and policy enablers can drive the global transition to circular economies?” and will focus on 3 key areas, namely:
- Macroeconomic modeling for a circular economy prioritizing policy and investments options
- Decent work and job creation for a just transition to a circular economy
- How circular economy can be a driver for inclusive low-carbon industrial transformation.
Speakers
The session brings together voices from different sectors - policymakers, UN agencies, private sector, and finance institutions to highlight the need for collaboration & partnerships in enhancing global circular value chains. It will include presentations on preliminary findings from ongoing PAGE studies, a panel discussion and allow for open dialogue with all participants to enable effective exchange of ideas, networking and identification of synergies.
