As UNIDO’s flagship event, the Global Call has attracted participants worldwide in the past three years since 2020. This year, UNIDO ITPO Beijing, together with the Division of ITPOs and Institutional Partnerships (GLO/ITP) and other related divisions in UNIDO, has initiated the UNIDO Global Call 2023 to seek innovative solutions in clean and smart energy that contribute to Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID).

The global launching ceremony of the UNIDO Global Call 2023 will be held at Vienna International Centre on 12 June 2023, which is the first time for the Global Call to be launched at UNIDO Headquarter. This event will gather representatives from UNIDO Headquarter and ITP Network, policy, knowledge, industry and business partners from public and private sectors, as well as previous winners of the Global Call. At the event, guests will share their perspectives and insights of three strategic categories of this year’s Global Call: (1) green hydrogen, (2) energy efficiency, and (3) clean energy innovation. After the Global launching ceremony, the application process will open shortly, and close in early August. All types of technological solutions, including those from technology innovation labs, start-ups, small and medium-sized enterprises and multinational corporations, especially those from developing countries and countries with economies in transition, are encouraged to join.
