| Abstract | This is a report of a workshop that took place in India in May 2001, to finalize the Orissa State Government's Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) 2001. The objective of IPR 2001 is to create an investment-friendly environment by reducing bureaucracy and developing infrastructure. The first part of the report consists of an overview of the economic analysis carried out by UNIDO advisor, keynote addresses, proceedings and policy recommendations. The second part is an extensive economic analysis undertaken prior to the workshop and revised at the light of the comments voiced by the participants ('Industrial Growth and Socio-economic Progress in Orissa'). |
