B2B in Sudan

KHARTOUM, 28 November – UNIDO and its Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO) in Germany organized a B2B event to bring together more than 70 stakeholders in the renewable energy sector.   Entitled, “Fostering Access to Renewable Energy Products for Agricultural Use”, the event connected renewable energy technology providers and exporters, support institutions, farmers’ associations as well as financial institutions to engage and share knowledge on the adoption of sustainable renewable energy technologies.

The B2B event, organized in close collaboration with the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources of the Kassala State, the Federal Ministry of Industry, and the Directorate of Renewable Energy of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, showcased technology for the agriculture sector in Sudan.  It presented that technological solutions are available to help with business sustainability and provided a platform to exchange knowledge on how the various stakeholders could streamline appropriate technologies in the Sudanese market.

The Italian Government (through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) funded project, “Resilience of agropastoral populations in Eastern Sudan” supported this knowledge-driven initiative.  This B2B event is one of the key activities of the project whose objective is to develop important agricultural value chains in Eastern Sudan by promoting the transfer of renewable energy technologies, access to finance and development of agri-business entrepreneurship to increase their capacity to increase the added-value of the Sudanese agricultural sector.
