Manuel Mattiat is the Chief of Cabinet

The Chief of Cabinet is responsible for providing substantive support to the Director General in both his strategic and day-to-day management of UNIDO. The Chief of Cabinet gives guidance to the various organizational entities in the Office of Director General and interacts with the Directorates of UNIDO. The Chief of Cabinet also acts as the focal point for the promotion and UNIDO-wide adoption of a coherent and consistent approach to results-based management (RBM) in all areas of the Organization’s activities.

Prior to his current role, Mattiat was the Chief Advisor and Head of Office advising the Director General on questions related to the management of the Organization, relationships with Member States and partners and the implementation of DG’s reform agenda. 

Mattiat also held assignments in Technical Cooperation with a focus on sustainable energy, as well as the Africa Bureau and Field Office in Côte d’Ivoire.

 Mattiat is a graduate of the University of Oxford, Sciences Po Paris and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
