Vienna, 31 October 2024 – In its ongoing commitment to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 9 (SDG), UNIDO has launched its new SDG 9 Learning Academy. The platform consolidates the organization’s comprehensive training and capacity development resources related to inclusive and sustainable industrial development.

The SDG 9 Learning Academy serves as a gateway to over 150 learning resources across various formats and in different languages. Designed to provide knowledge on UNIDO’s key priorities such as industrial policy, clean energy and climate action, digital transformation, and resilient and sustainable supply chains, the Academy makes these learning resources available for users at all knowledge levels: from beginners seeking a basic understanding of SDG 9 concepts to more advanced professionals interested in deepening their expertise.

By consolidating these resources into a single, accessible portal, UNIDO has simplified access to its SDG 9-related learning materials, which were previously dispersed across multiple platforms. The Academy offers a wide range of e-learning courses and technical training resources at no cost. Users can also request tailored workshops for a fee, and updates on upcoming training opportunities will be regularly posted.

The launch of the Academy coincided with UNIDO’s Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum (MIPF), which was organized together with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources (MIM) of Saudi Arabia on 23-24 October in Riyadh. One key takeaway from the Forum was the need to strengthen national workforces through skill development and continuous learning, aligning with SDG 9’s emphasis on inclusive and sustainable industrialization.
