UNIDO supports the manufacturing sector in many countries in adopting safe and environmentally friendly production practices through skills development. This includes providing access to the latest technology based on international best practices, and improving occupational health and safety. In many developing countries, access to educational systems and training programmes is not adequate to meet labour market demands. In response, UNIDO collaborates with public, private and development partners to scale up Technical and Vocational Education Training systems.
